KRB Sponsors Xeriscaping Workshop
The City of Roswell, in conjunction with the Agriculture and Natural Resources Department of the University of Georgia and Keep Roswell Beautiful, will host a Xeriscaping and Water Conservation Workshop on January 10 from 6:30 until 8 pm at Country Club of Roswell.
Xeriscaping refers to landscaping in ways that do not require supplemental irrigation. Any landscape, whether newly installed or well established, can be made more water efficient by implementing one or more of the seven steps of Xeriscaping.
There will be recommendations for using water wisely in the home and there will be free home indoor water saver kits available for all Roswell residents who attend. The kit includes leak detection tablets, sink aerators and a water efficient shower head, as well as directions for use.
Keep Roswell Beautiful will be offering door prizes for attendees -- two $50 Home Depot gift cards to be used for materials to create rain barrels or to provide drought tolerant plans for your yard.
Registration is requested by e-mailing Keep Roswell Beautiful Executive Director Janet Liberman (jliberman@roswellgov.com or laikens@roswellgov.com), or by calling 770/6413715 by noon on January 8. All residents who register before January 8 will receive an additional door prize ticket.
